Santa is coming to town!

Here are Griffin's first pics with Santa! Aunt Jill was once again our photographer, and BFF/cousin Keaton joined the fun! We are looking forward to the holidays with our little one. Also, I am looking forward to my graduation on Dec. 20th. I am finally done with my masters and couldn't be happier!

We wish you all happy holidays!

1st Turkey Day!

Watching football and naptime after all that turkey!

Sweet baby boy and his 1st Thanksgiving!

We enjoyed our first Thanksgiving with Griffin. We spent the afternoon with the family in Humble then the evening in Pearland with the Reed clan. He did so well, but he definitely slept his best that night - too much going on!

We concluded our busy weekend with football. Hans has to have G on his lap as he watches Game Day then as he watched (and prayed!) that OSU beat OU. No such luck - but, he is happy Tech is off to the Cotton Bowl. As for A&M...well...we won't go there! Maybe next year??

Happy Holidays to all of you... we will be celebrating Griffin's 6 week birthday this Monday. Time flies when you are having fun!

Football, parties, family, and more!

Lil' Griffin is getting so big and is still as sweet as ever. Hans and I say everyday how good he is - you better just be ready to feed him or he will let you know he wants his dinner NOW! We have been having fun watching Texas Tech. I never thought I'd say that, but seeing Hans so excited makes me excited! Since my football teams are stinking it up this year, I had to root for someone, and it is an Aggie law that I just can't root for Texas (sorry to my Longhorn friends!). We are hoping for a victory over OU and a possible trip to the National Championship. If they go, Hans has a chance to go as well! We decided Griffin is the good luck charm this year!

My sister's son, Keaton, turned one, and we had his party at our house. Elmo took over the Reed house! I really enjoyed seeing Keaton so excited with all his gifts. My sweet (and precious and BIG) nephew, Gage, came to celebrate. We were missing Gunar in this pic - with 4 grandsons, imagine how busy Mi-Maw is!
My uncle Charles Hardy (one of G's namesakes!) came to visit while in Houston for business. Griffin enjoyed meeting him, and I loved showing off my little guy.

I know they all say they grow so fast, and I believe it! I want him to stay this small forever - he fits perfectly on our chests (we spoil him already) :) I go back to work in 3 weeks. Not sure how I feel about it. While I miss my students so much, I will miss my special time with the G man. I treasure every second I spend with him and Hans.

First trip to Humble!

Last weekend, we went to Humble to see Mi-Maw and Aunt Jenn! Mi-Maw was so excited to have Griffin visit her house - Keaton was there, too! Jenn and little Sawyer were in town from Nashville, and we enjoyed seeing them. We can't wait for their next trip during Christmas!

We are still loving every second with G, but we sure do miss our sleep!

Growing and growing!!

Griffin had his first doctor's appointment today, and he is on target - in fact, he is growing so fast. He is currently past his birth weight (weighs 8 pounds, 12 ounces) and grew a 1/2 inch! Not sure he liked the doctor visit too much...he is pretty exhausted now after all the attention there!

My sister came over this past Monday to practice her new photography hobby on Lil G. These pictures are so sweet - she is so talented, and I am blessed to have my own little photographer for Griffin. I will attach a couple here, but I am saving the cutest ones for later...look for announcements soon!

Hans goes out of town for a bit this week, so Mi-Maw to the rescue! She comes in on Wed. to hang out with us. Have I told you how lucky I am to have such an amazing family? They are just a phone call away and can't get enough of our newest addition. Say prayers that Hans has a safe trip - we will miss Daddy while he is gone!

And, with all our visitors and appointments, we even got out to vote! Go do so if you haven't already :) Until next time...

Griffin's 1st week!

I promise not to post EVERY week, but of course, we have to show off our sweet little boy. Hans and I could sit around and just watch him for hours. We are still in awe! Griffin's Mi-Maw came to visit this past weekend, and we were so excited - etoufee, gumbo, a nap - all much needed.

Griffin's cousin (and BFF) came over on Saturday to meet him. Keaton was so cute. Each time G cried, Keaton looked at us as if saying, "come on people, help this little guy out..." It was so sweet how concerned he was. We look forward to their lives together and them growing up as close as brothers :)

We are doing very well with our newest addition. I am also in awe of my husband who helps me and loves this little man so much. I love how complete everything is starting to feel. Of course, we do miss Griffin's grandpas and thank them each night for being G's angels. He has already started to hear stories about Grandpa Charlie and Pop.

Thanks again for letting us share him with you!

Griffin Hardy Reed

He is here!

Griffin arrived Monday, October 20th at 10:10 pm. He is a very healthy 8 lbs., 8 oz. After a long day, he arrived via c-section thanks to an amazing doctor and my amazing nurse/friend, Stacy Rainwater.

We returned home on Thursday, the 23rd and are adjusting to life with a little one. We are truly blessed and THANK YOU for all your warm wishes and congratulations. We are going to spend our first night alone tonight and pray Mi-Ma will return tomorrow :)

I love this little guy and can't believe he is ours. I am in some pain now, but boy, was it worth it!! Keep us in your prayers in hopes that we can parent this little one and give him all he deserves.

Love to all,
Kim, Hans, and Lil G

Getting started...

Thanks to my great friends (Lori and Jill!), I have decided to keep you posted on everything Reed! We are about to celebrate our 4 year anniversary and getting ready for our first little munchkin - Griffin Hardy Reed - scheduled to arrive in October. We just loved the name Griffin (well, Hans has another story for where it came from...) and Hardy is my mom's maiden name. I couldn't have named him after a stronger person!

I am currently in the final months of grad school (can I get an ALLELUJIAH??) and Hans is working as a project manager. We are looking forward to settling down a bit with our little man and enjoying time with our fantastic family and friends.

Again - we are just getting started here, so bear with us as we build the blog, add some pics, and make it pretty! Happy summer...
